Welcome to the new Forward-ME website. I apologise for the length of time we have been out of touch.
It was with great sadness that we heard that Alan Rengger, our webmaster, was terminally ill and was unable to pass on the information necessary for us to access the forward-me (.org.uk) website. I am very grateful for the excellent service he provided for more than 10 years. Thanks to the diligence of the ME Association team and the generosity of Forward-ME members, communications are now resumed.
We are receiving a very high number of enquiries from people with M.E. asking if they should have the Covid-19 vaccine, and when they should expect to be offered it.
The 25% M.E. Group, Action for M.E. and the ME Association have collaborated to agree the following statement, also being shared by Forward ME.
Any vaccine which is approved will have been tested on people with long-term conditions, including looking at whether there are any differences in how well the vaccine works in people with a range of (but not all) health conditions.
Forward-ME consists of a fairly broad spectrum of charities and voluntary organisations invited by the Countess of Mar to meet from time to time. The Aim of Forward-ME is to promote effective joint working by ME and CFS organisations to maximise impact on behalf of all people with ME and CFS in the UK.
Membership of Forward-ME is by invitation, but any reasonable and constructive contributions to our deliberations from any individual or organisation representing people with ME will be considered by us.
We seek to maximise consensus but respect those who have differing views. Members are free to opt in or out of specific group activities.
